And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. {Revelation 20:7-10}
There is an end to Satan’s evil and wicked devices against God’s people. He is not forever. Don’t worry your life about him, because there is an end to him. Satan’s device is to weary the saints of God, to a point that we will become discouraged and give up trusting and calling on God. But don’t fall for it. Our only hope is through our constantly calling on the Lord and trusting in the faithfulness of His word. Satan will use anything to discourage the people of God. He will even use God against us by lying to us about Him. He will lie to us and tell us all kinds of lies about God. Some even have fallen away from the Lord, because they ended up believing his lies instead of continuing to fight him with the word of God and spending time with the Lord. Our only hope is Jesus and spending time with Him. The more we spend time with the Lord and in His word, the more we will come to know Him and believe in His love for us. If we don’t know the Lord and don’t believe enough that He loves us, Satan will have us in an instant. We will believe his lies that God is against us in every trial that comes our way, and before long we will stop trusting in the Lord and stop talking to Him. Satan will have us in a trap so fast, unless we fight him with everything we have in us by calling on Jesus all the time to save us. He is wearying the people of God all over the world. We are not alone in our fight against Satan. He’s been doing this deceiving of God’s people since mankind was created. But now more than ever before, because his time is short and it is coming to an end so Satan is doing double time. He wants to take as many souls to hell with him as he can possibly can before his time is up. He will try to persuade as many saints of God he possibly can to turn against God, because that’s the biggest win of all for Satan. People that love him and hate God, Satan has no desire for them. They are easy winnings to him. But it’s the people of God he’s most after. The Bible tells us,
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. {Daniel 7:25}
How do we fight Satan? We have to spend time with the Lord because He is the only One that overcame Satan at the cross. There is a scene in the Book of Matthew where the disciples couldn’t cast a devil out of a lunatic son. His father came to the Lord when he saw Him come down from the mountain and begged the Lord to help his son out. So the Lord did, and cast the devil out of his son. Later the disciples asked the Lord what happened? Why couldn’t they cast the devil out? Jesus tells them because of their unbelief. He then shows them how devils are cast out. He tells them,
Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. {Matthew 17:21}
It is so key in our walk with God and defeating Satan to spend time with the Lord in fasting and in prayer. Without it we don’t really have much of a fighting chance. The only way to win the battle Satan is raging against the people of God is through our relationship with the Lord. We must at all cost spend time with Him in prayer and in fasting often.
The time is at hand, the people of God are being tried everywhere, all over the world. If we want to win this battle of Satan versus our souls, we have to fight. I have a feeling it’s not going to ease up either, it’s just going to get worse. But winning is promised to us if we do our part. Whatever we do we must win. We must never stop believing in God’s love for us. Like I said before, Satan is going to lie to us in every way possible. He is going to try to confuse us and even make us believe that he is God talking to us. It is everywhere. He has deceived so many people of God already. If we don’t know the voice of Jesus and we’re not spending time with Him and seeking after Him, we will end up believing Satan’s lies. Remember, Satan is subtle. He’s not going to come at us with blatant lies. If we did not fall for the ones we thought were obvious, he will come against us with the subtle ones. He’s not going to set our enemies against us to hurt us. He will come at us with people that we love, people that we care for and trust. We will end up so hurt that we will start to question God’s love for us. We will start to wonder if God is true or not. We will start to entertain thoughts like, “Has God left me? Does He still love me? I thought He loves me. Why is He allowing all these things to happen to me? Why do I hurt so much? Why are my loved ones against me out of all people?” But hang in there, because God is faithful in His love for us. Remember there is no lie in Him. God tells us in His word,
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? {Numbers 23:19}
God is faithful in His love for us. It doesn’t matter how bad you’re hurting right now, keep trusting and believing in Jesus’ love for you, because He will come through. He will comfort you and He will lift you up in the end.
Satan lies. That is his nature. He is the Father of lies Jesus tells us. So if we start to question God’s faithfulness, it means Satan is lying to us. This is exactly what he wants us to do – what he wants us to feel about God. That God somehow has lied to us, that He has forgotten us and His promises of love to us. We can’t fall for it. We must always remember that God is faithful in His love for us until the end. He never lies. His word tells us,
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. {Jeremiah 31:3}
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. {Deuteronomy 31:6}
Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. {Matthew 28:20}
The Lord overcame Satan at the cross and won over him already, but we haven’t. Unfortunately as long as we’re living in this fallen world and in this earthly body, we will need to continue to keep fighting Satan. We haven’t won over him yet. He will continue to trip us up with a fault or a shortcoming that we can’t seem to overcome. And then he will lie to us and tell us that God is sick of forgiving us, so we might as well give up confessing our sins to the Lord. If we listen to this lie we will end up in despair. But if we fight him by continuing to go to the Lord in prayer and to confess our sins before Him, and ask for His grace and forgiveness, we will continue to win. We will not lose.
Even so, we may have won the battle we fought yesterday, but that doesn’t mean we’ve won for good. We must keep fighting again today. We have to keep fighting, keep looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is our hope, He is our strength, He is our weapon against Satan. We have to keep spending time with the Lord, talking to Him and being open to Him with everything we’re going through. This is how to win.
Christ has wonderful promises for us, that if we look to Him we will overcome in the end. It’s a day-to-day looking unto the Lord. The only way to crush Satan everyday is to continue to resist him and rebuke him, and abide in our daily communion with the Lord. We have to keep finding our strength with Jesus, and then Satan’s demise is sure. It’s an everyday resisting of Satan and rebuking of him. It’s reminding him who he is coming against. When he comes and tries to weary you just tell him,
Satan, I come against you in the name of the Lord and in the power of His precious blood He has shed for me at the cross. Be ashamed of yourself Satan, you’re coming against the child of God whom He has died for. You lie from the beginning and there is no truth in you. I decree against you this decree Satan, that every hurt and pain and sorrow you afflict me with are going to turn around and blow up in your face. Every evil thing you do against me will go double against you but blessings to me. This is my decree and my prayer against you Satan because you are coming against a child of God whom Christ has died for.
I tell you, again and again when I come against Satan in the name of the Lord Jesus and remind him that he’s a liar from the beginning and that Christ is the faithful one, he cringes. And then when I tell him I decree that everything he brings against me will be brought double against him but be a blessing to me, I tell you he runs and leaves. I have seen Satan in a vision whirling in the air in such confusion, in torment because the Lord did punish him for hurting me.
So don’t give up the fight of faith of God’s love for you. As long as we’re following the Lord we will win. As long as we’re setting our hearts and affections upon the Lord we will win. Jesus tells us,
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. {John 15:4-5}
Prayer
Lord Jesus, my hope and strength is You. Without You I am nothing and I am lost. I thank You Father for Your great love for me at the cross at Calvary. I thank You for the shedding of Your precious blood for the remission of my sins. Through Your blood I overcome today. I thank You Jesus for Your great love for me.
Father, I pray Savior, Your continued love and grace and mercy and forgiveness upon me today. Continue to please give me the strength and faith in Your love for me, that no matter what happens, no matter what trials I go through and whatever afflictions I go through in this life, I will believe in You and will continue to call upon You. Help me Lord Jesus, to keep resisting Satan and to keep fighting him with You. I ask for all of these things Father, in Your most wonderful and precious name Jesus. Thank You Father. Amen.
