If you want more of God don’t be afraid to ask. By all means ask Him to reveal Himself more to you. We don’t have to settle for what we know about Him through the Bible or through the preaching of our pastors. If you want more of God, ask. Ask Him to give Himself to you. We will never know God more if we don’t ask. All it takes is for us to ask.
Years ago I wanted more of God. I wanted Him to fill me. I wanted Him to give me the greatest thing He could ever give me. A couple of nights later I asked the same thing again. I kept asking until He responded to me. He told me that He gives Himself to me. What can be greater than God? Nothing and no one. As the years go by the Lord continues to give Himself to me and to reveal Himself to me. Then one day I felt His Spirit enter into my body. I was worshiping and praising God in a prayer meeting, speaking in tongues, when I saw Jesus enter the room. In a little while I saw Him walk close to me and slowly enter my body. I said I wanted Him to dwell in me so He did. When I closed my eyes I saw a vision of Jesus sitting on the throne of my heart smiling so big, so very pleased of what He has done.
You don’t give up asking. I’ve been asking Him to give Himself to me for years and years, and finally just couple of years ago He finally gave Himself to me. That night He gave Himself to me I saw the Lord sitting by the foot of my bed and He told me, “I gave Myself to you.” I’ve had the Holy Ghost since I was a little girl, but this was so much more. Having Jesus come into you and living inside of you literally is the way to truly have God.
Don’t be afraid to ask Jesus to give Himself to you. Don’t settle to just feeling His presence in church or when you’re praying or when you’re singing His songs. Make Him come and give Himself to you. There’s a literal experience that takes place when He gives Himself to us. That’s how to have God – you’ve got to ask Him to give Himself to you.
Why is it important to have more of God? Because when you do you will hear His voice, see His face, and know who He is. Things will be clearer to you. Prayer and talking to Him will be much easier. You don’t need to wonder where He is because you know where He is – you see Him inside of you. You will come to know what His plans are for you because He will show it to you. Whenever you’re afraid, all you need to do is talk to Him and He’s right there with His voice comforting you. What’s greater than God? Nothing and no one! So ask. Don’t be afraid to ask because He will give Himself to you. His pleasure is to give Himself to us because He loves us so much. All we need to do is ask.
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. {Isaiah 30:21}
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. {Jeremiah 33:3}
If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.{John 14:15 – 20}
Prayer
Father, I’m so happy You’re in my life. I’m so happy that You are real and true, living and breathing and walking on this earth. You knock at our hearts and all we need to do is say to You, “Jesus, You’re welcome to come in and be my Lord and King.” And if we want more of You, all we need to do is ask for more of You and You will give Yourself more to us. There is no end with You. You are a great big God who fills both heaven and earth with Your great Spirit. The more we ask the more we will have You. I thank You Father that there is nothing too hard with You.
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your grace and abundant mercy upon my soul today. Thank You for giving Yourself to me. I pray Savior that You would please reveal Yourself more to me that I may know You more and more and hear Your voice more and more and desire You more and more. For I want You Jesus because there is no one like You in the heavens and over all the earth. You are the greatest thing we can ever possess in this life. I love You so much. I thank You for Your great love for me. I ask for more of You today Jesus, in Your great and wonderful name. Thank You, Father. Amen.
