Hiding Place

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. {Isaiah 25:4}

And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. {Isaiah 4:6}

I don’t know about you, but for me when life hits the fan I run to the Lord for cover. Quick as lightning I run to Him. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have Him. The Lord has time and time again embraced me, picked me up, comforted me and set me back up standing. He gives me the courage to face life when I can’t face it anymore. He has been my shelter and my hiding place. When I’m worrying and quaking inside not knowing what’s going to happen, He has told me time and time again assuring words of, “It is well,” “It’s going to be all right” and “I will take care of it.”  I don’t know what I’d do without Him. I’m so glad He is my Friend.

I found out last night that a very close family member is very sick. She has lost so much weight in such a short amount of time that everyone agrees there is something very wrong. Even this loved one wants to be taken to the hospital. She usually hates doctors and hospitals, but this time she doesn’t mind at all if one of her children will take her. This I thought is a real sign something is seriously wrong. She is not in a lot of pain but she said none of her clothes fit anymore and she needs to buy new ones. She does not look well at all according to the person that has messaged me in my phone. This loved one is very close to me and I don’t want the Lord to take her yet. So as soon as I found out about this, I tuned into the Lord in my heart and in my mind and talked to Him. Almost immediately He gave me an assurance. He told me, “She’s going to be all right, just pray.” I said goodbye from the text conversation I was a part of and went to the Lord in prayer. I poured my heart out before Him and wept before Him. It is so beautiful to find Jesus there when you need Him the most. This is why it pays to come to Him all the time. Even when life is boring and you feel like you have nothing to talk about, you do it anyway because you know it’s important to Him and you know it is important to your relationship with Him. At times like these when you really need Him, it is easier to find Him since you’ve been talking to Him all along.

The Lord told me that He’s going to touch this person and heal her. When I went to bed I had a dream that I was talking to two ladies at their work place, and I was talking to them about the Lord. As I was talking to them about Him, Jesus entered the room and sat down in an empty chair. When He entered we all felt His presence and started speaking in tongues. They didn’t see Him, but I saw Him. He was dressed in a white robe with a red velvety vest on top of it. He also had sandals on. I saw His face but couldn’t really see the details of His face. It was hazy like in a cloud. I woke up and I heard the Lord speak to me in my spirit telling me that He had touched my loved one, and that she’s going to be all right. I got down on my knees with my face on the floor before Him, crying to Him with thanksgiving. I could still see Him in my spirit from the dream. He felt so real in the room. He was there. His love enveloped me in an embrace and I knew everything was going to be all right.

When I told my sick loved one the dream and what the Lord has told me, she was very happy. She’s a praying woman and she has experienced the Lord’s healing in time’s past. So she knows that nothing is impossible with the Lord.

I don’t know what I’d do without Jesus. He is my hiding place. Time and time again when life’s storm rages and my footing is off balance and I don’t know what to do, I call on the Lord with all of my heart. When I do, He is there. He says to the storm, “Peace, be still.” He says to me, “It is well.” Truly He is a shade from the heat of the sun, a shelter from the storm and rain – my hiding place. I love Him so much.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. {Psalm 91:1-2}

Prayer

Father I thank You for Your undying love for us. I thank You for Your faithfulness. When life’s storm rages and dark clouds hover menacingly all over the place, it is well because You are there. I thank You with all of my heart Jesus that You are there – You are always there. Thank You so much for You.

I pray for Your grace and strength for Your people today, especially those that are going through life’s storms and battles. Please draw them to You and hear their prayers. Help them to pour their heart and soul to You in prayer and trust in You. Help us to have faith that with You all things are possible. You love us so much and gave Your life for us. Help us to love You and believe in You always. Help us also to wait on You patiently until we feel Your presence and assurances for our prayers, and not give up talking to You about it until You tell us, “It is well.” I pray this Father in Your most wonderful and lovely name, Jesus. Thank You, Father. Amen.
