How To Have Perfect Peace

Podcast

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. {Isaiah 26:3}

The only way to have perfect peace in this troubled world is to have a surrendered life to Jesus Christ. That is the true answer. If you want perfect peace you need to surrender your love and your life to Jesus Christ. Why? Because He alone owns the whole entire world and the universe we belong to. There is nothing that is out of His control, or His wisdom, or His power that we can ever face in this life. When your life is surrendered to Him then it means you solely place your trust and your hope and your love in Him. When your love and faith is in Him, because you’ve given your life to His calling and to His plans, you have nothing to worry about. You know He will take care of you. You will still have worries and you will still have cares, but you know what to do with them. Once you do what you’re supposed to do with your cares and with your worries, you can sit back and relax and enjoy God because your life belongs to Him and He belongs to you.

Jesus told us,

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. {John 14:27}

Here’s the thing, if you’re not surrendered in your love to the Lord, you’re still a big target to the principalities of this world. Satan will have a say in your life and you can’t do anything about it, because even if you recognize him plaguing your life, you know he can do it because you’re not completely surrendered. You are still vulnerable. You are still a sitting duck. If there are things you are holding back from the Lord and not giving them to Him, Satan can and will use these against you. But when you’ve learned to hand every single issue to God that gets in your life, and you learn to have dominion over your thoughts, actions, and desires (by handing them to the Lord and talking to Him about them), then Satan is powerless against you. When Satan becomes powerless then the principalities in this world are under your dominion. Basically a surrendered life to Jesus Christ means a world where perfect peace abides.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. {1 John 4:18}

Take Apostle Paul for example, he had troubles and trials and tribulations, but he had perfect peace because he had such a love for the Lord. He loved God completely and had no reservations about it. Even when he was thrown in jail with Silas because of preaching the word of God, he was still singing praises to the Lord even at midnight. He had such peace and had such assurances of the love of God who belonged to him, he did not care what happened to him. God so loved him that He shook the jailhouse down with an earthquake and released him and Silas from their chains. Even devils knew the power of Paul with Jesus. One day a bunch of men decided to cast a devil out of this possessed man and used the name of Jesus and Paul against it. But the devil responded to them and told them he did not know them. He took a hold of them that they all fled out of the house running for their lives. The Bible tells us,

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. {Acts 19:15-16}

Talk about perfect peace and having power over the principalities and of the darkness of this world! The devil knew Paul’s perfect love for Christ. He knew Paul belonged to God and knew the devils couldn’t mess with him. He also knew that these men who were calling out the name of Jesus and the name of Paul did not really belong to God. They weren’t surrendered. They were still vulnerable and sitting ducks to the devils. So he had power over them.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. {John 16:33}

Perfect peace with Jesus Christ is not about being free from troubles in this life. Perfect peace with Jesus is having this wonderful assurance that you feel in your heart and in your soul that no matter what happens to you in your life, even to the point of death, you know he will take care of you. That’s why the apostles of Jesus Christ (including apostle Paul himself) did not care about their lives. They knew what they felt inside their soul. They knew the love of God and the peace that passes all man’s understanding that filled their hearts and soul, and filled their lives through and through from the top of their head to the bottom of their feet. They did not care what men thought of them or what will happen to them. They knew the power that belonged to them. They can call God from heaven and have Him perform things for them that no one else could ever do but the Lord alone. They’ve healed the sick, raised the dead and cast down principalities at the mention of the name of Jesus Christ, their God and Savior, who loved them and was faithful to them. God responded to them because their lives were surrendered to Him.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. {Hebrews 13:8}

The Lord never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and will be forever. This is great for us because as He did wonderful things for the apostles and His disciples, and even to His prophets and servants in the Old Testament, He can also do for us today. Nothing is too hard with the Lord, therefore nothing is too hard for us too if we just but believe in Him. When our lives are surrendered to Jesus and when we are always communicating with Him through prayer, He will begin to reveal Himself to us the likes of which we’ve never witnessed in our lives before. Our prayers will become more powerful and devils themselves will start recognizing us. Our hearts will start to grow bigger with faith in Him that we can cast out devils ourselves. We have power over principalities and over all kingdoms of this world because of the One that is most powerful who lives inside of us. He will fill us with His Spirit and with more of His power than we’ve ever known before. We will pray prayers that will come to pass and will take place for us. Whatever we ask of Him He brings to pass. Changes in our world will take place because of our prayers. All this comes about when our hearts are surrendered to Jesus. When our lives are surrendered to the Lord we can have perfect peace, because He empowers us and we are assured of His great love for us. When we have the Lord and we know He is for us, that is perfect peace.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? {Romans 8:31}

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. {Romans 15:13}

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. {Philippians 4:7}

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. {John 15:6-7}

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. {Luke 9:23}

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. {John 14:18}

Prayer

Lord, I thank You with all of my heart for You. I thank You that there is nothing impossible with You. Whatever I desire, whatever I am longing for, and whatever I am asking for from You if they are good and pleasing before You, You will grant them to me. When my life is surrendered to You and I belong to Your will and Your desire completely, there is nothing that You will not do for me. All things then will be possible for me because of Your great love and care, because You will never leave me nor forsake me, You will come to me. I thank You so much Lord Jesus for Your love for me because You are faithful and You are good until the end. I give You all the praise and give You all the honor, now and forever may Your name be magnified in this world and in my life. Thank You, Jesus.

Father, I pray Savior that You will draw me to You to love You more and to talk to You more. Help me Lord Jesus to hand all my fears and apprehensions to You, whatever reservations I have of surrendering to You please Jesus help me to give them all up to You. You will be good to me Lord because You are good. You will be faithful. You will not forsake me nor leave me. You will be faithful to Your love for me until the end. You do not love me because I am good or perfect or kind and wonderful, but You love me because I desire to surrender my life to You and to follow You. When I’ve learned to commit everything to You and hand every thing to You, that’s when You will turn around and create wonderful things and awesome things for me. You will change my heart and my desire so that I will start to manifest You in this life. When my interests and my plans begin to revolve around You then there’s nothing that I can hope for that will not be given to me. When my desires and my dreams align with Yours, all things will be given to me because I have become one with You and my glory will be Your glory, and Your glory will be my glory. Nothing now can ever separate me from You. Please Savior, bring me to Your desire and to Your will, that I will behold Your glory and Your face forevermore, and see Your power and Your grace. I pray all these things in Your wonderful name, Jesus. Thank You, Father. Amen.
