I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. {Galatians 2:20}
To live a happy life on this earth we have to immerse ourselves in Jesus Christ. Jesus in the morning, Jesus in the afternoon, and Jesus in the evening. Everything that exists and lives is because of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us everything was created for His sake.
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: {Colossians 1:16}
So if we want to be happy, we have to have a lot of Jesus Christ. Our existence should be defined because Jesus lives, not because the world is a great place or because we feel great about ourselves. We may have money in the bank, a wonderful spouse, and beautiful children. Sooner or later those reasons we have to exist and live for in this world are going to fail us, because nothing lasts. Sooner or later the soul in us is going to crave something more than what the world can offer us. But if we live because Jesus lives, then like Apostle Paul we will find contentment in whatever state we find ourselves in. We will know our reason for living. Whether we have money or not, friends or not, job or not, security or not – you name it, we will live because Jesus lives.
There is such a difference between having the Lord Jesus as our reason for living versus just finding Him for help whenever we’re in trouble. When the Lord is our reason for living we will wake up with a purpose, with a reason, and with meaning in our lives – all the time. We won’t suffer depression or a miserable state of being, because we will come to realize it’s not about us anymore, it’s about Jesus Christ. We move and breathe and live because of Jesus Christ. When He is our reason for living our life will be full. Our life will be full of purpose and fulfillment. He will take us from glory to glory, from victory to victory. Whenever we are faced with challenges or problems in this life they don’t have to overwhelm us, because we live and move and have our very being because of the Lord. We will come to not worry even if nothing works out, because we belong to the Lord and we’re assured of His love and presence in our lives. When He is the reason for our existence and when life is because of Him, we can laugh in the midst of our problems. We know it’s all in His care, because everyday we go to Him for our meaning and our reason to live. Everyday before we do anything else we are talking to Him. When we wake up in the morning we are talking to Him. When we brush our teeth and get dressed for the day we are talking to Him. Our hearts and our minds are set on Him because He is our reason for living, morning, noon and night. We’ve come to realize that life without Jesus Christ is meaningless and pointless. It doesn’t fulfill, it doesn’t complete, and it’s not enough. Everything else comes short and is superficial. When we’re always talking to the Lord, He gives us eyes and ears that ordinary people don’t have. We see things beyond what is at hand. We see a new world where Jesus is sitting high and lifted up, and is always the King. We see heaven on earth, and we look forward to being with Him all the time. We want to see Him all the time. When we live for Him every moment of every day, and are talking to Him because He is our reason for everything, we see all things are possible. We see God always in the midst of us. Inside our soul, inside our hearts, and inside our being. We feel Him, we see Him, and we love Him. When things go wrong He tells us, “All is well. I will take care of it.” And He does. We are assured by His voice, and we live, move on, and find peace. It is all about Jesus Christ. Living in this world needs to be all about Him. If you want to be happy you have to live for Him.
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. {Luke 9:23}
He must increase, but I must decrease. {John 3:30}
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. {Philippians 4:11}
For in him we live, and move, and have our being…For we are also his offspring. {Acts 17:28}
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen. {Colossians 1:16}
Prayer
Oh, Father, how lovely You are. How wonderful You are Jesus. This world and everything in it is foolish without You. You alone complete us. You alone satisfy. You alone give everlasting life. Nothing and no one else can even come close to being compared to You. You are wonderful and I love You so much. Thank You with all of my heart for You in my life.
Father, we need You. We need You so much today. Please Lord Jesus, help us. Help us to come to You and find You and seek after Your face and stay in Your presence. Help us to love Your presence. Help us to spend as much time as we need talking to You, because in doing so we will find our meaning, we will find our fulfillment and we will find our reason for living. It is all about You Jesus. Help us Father I pray to live this everyday. In Your most wonderful and precious name, Jesus. Thank You, Father. Amen.
