“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.” {Psalm 27:4}

So many things in this life can get in the way of our desire for God. Life is busy enough with family and friends, and whatever we’re working towards in this life to make ends meet. But on top of this, if we’re not careful the distraction of our phones and the Internet and whatever entertainment our world offers us can end up sweeping us away from the plan of God in our lives. God can end up taking a back seat and be forgotten completely. God of course in the end is in control of everything, and if we really want Him, He will help us to have Him. The problem is, and it is a big problem, we can become too busy and too distracted to ask Him. Asking Him one time is not enough. We have to keep reaffirming our desire for Him, to Him. If we don’t, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life can drive that desire away. Before you know it, even when He is dealing with us to spend a little time with Him we may end up saying no to Him in our hearts. Even if we go to church and do the work of God, we could still end up having the appearance of religion, but our hearts have turned away from the Lord and have made our world and the lusts thereof our idol.

That’s why it’s so important to be ambitious for God. We have to pursue the desire that we have for God and keep talking to Him about it. The Bible states that Satan is like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Satan’s time and his dominion of this world are soon coming quickly to an end. The Lord has said it in His word centuries ago already, that His coming is soon and that He is going to do a quick work on this earth. If He said it then you better believe it is even sooner now than ever before. We can’t laze around and think it’s still a ways away. Before you know it, what He has spoken is going to come to pass and we will see Him face to face. Satan knows this and so he is working tirelessly, I mean tirelessly to get you and I distracted from God. He doesn’t need to go to sleep or eat or take a vacation either. He is a spirit and so are his devils. They don’t sleep or tire out. They are working hard to get you and I distracted from desiring God in our lives. If he could get our senses thrilled and captivated by his power, then he can have the power over us to sway our emotions away from God. When we want the stuff of the world out there more than God, then Satan has won over us. If there’s a way he can distract us from loving God he will pursue it until in our hearts we don’t want God anymore.

It’s one thing to be swept away for a moment by the distraction of our lives. It’s another when our hearts don’t want God anymore. We don’t want that to happen at all. Not to scare us or anything but the unseen activity of the demonic world is very real. Their one purpose is to bring us to where they are going, and have us destroyed along with them in an everlasting torment. Satan and his devils know where they are going and they have no choice about it. But we have a choice where we are going, and we must fight for it. We must become ambitious for God to come into our hearts and lives so that Satan will have no say in it. None whatsoever!

The key in having God involved in our lives is being in constant communication with Him. We must always be communicating with Him in our hearts and in our minds what we want from Him. If we want Him more in our lives we need to tell Him so. If we’re too busy and are too distracted in our lives and seem so powerless about making the time, we should have a talk with Him and tell Him so. He is waiting for us to ask Him.

God, believe it or not, is looking for us to give Him the permission to intervene in our lives. This may shock some people but it’s true. God is a gentleman. The Bible states if we learned who He is, we will actually see a meek and lowly man. He doesn’t go around brandishing Himself and imposing Himself on people. He will not impose Himself on anyone. The only time God seems to impose Himself on anyone is to intervene on their behalf to save them, because He loves them and someone has been praying for them. Or to call them for a specific work that He has in mind for them, and needs for them to respond to that call. Other times it is to bring in His judgment because He is a just God. He brings in correction when He sees it is needful. Again, all of these things are done because of His love for us. Unlike Satan who has no qualms about being rude and barges in and wreaks havoc in people’s lives, God waits for us to call Him. God waits for us to “instruct” Him and to tell Him what we want to happen in our lives. It’s the truth. Try Him out and see what I am talking about. As soon as you get into detail and specifically tell God what you want to happen in your life, God will come in and start working on it. He is very respectful of us. He has given us our own free will and free choice. It is up to us to want Him by asking Him.

A lot of people blame God for the messes in their lives. They say, “If God cared why did these miserable things happen in my life?” Yet if you ask them if they ever asked God to come and intervene in their lives and be their Lord and Savior, they look at you like you have horns on your head. They’ll tell you right out they want nothing to do with God. Is it any wonder their lives are messed up? If we want God in our lives we have to ask Him. If we want God to work out a certain situation in our lives we have to tell Him that, we have to be specific with Him. Tell Him exactly what you want to happen. He is not just going to start rearranging stuff in your life without your permission. God coaxes us, He entreats us, and He nudges us to try Him out. He’s not going to force Himself on us. The minute you say in your heart you don’t want Him, He is going to leave. God does what you ask Him to do. You are that powerful and respected by Him. He has given you that value and that worth that you may not even realize you have.

Being ambitious for God is everything in this life. It is a matter of life and death. Our world today is being swept away by the darkness of the principalities that hover over this world. Everyday people’s lives are being destroyed and being sold more and more into darkness. I had a vision one night of the Lord looking down from His throne. I looked to see what He was looking at, and at first I couldn’t make it out. It looked like a bright yellow sun in the space below God. As I looked closer I thought it’s a lake – a yellow amber lake. It was very bright and moving and the edges were smoking white smoke. As I looked and wondered what it was I realized it’s a lake of fire. As my eyes got used to the darkness all around it, I saw at the edge of that lake Satan standing and pushing people into it. He wasn’t dragging them to it but the people were actually all coming to him by droves. One by one Satan tosses them over or pushes them to the lake. As soon as the person realizes what was happening then horror would come to their faces. Before they could even say anything they are plummeted inside and plunged into the lake of fire. The lake looks like molten lava, living, real and moving. It swallowed people without a problem.

When I realized what I was looking at I started to cringe inside fearing so much I would see someone I know. The Lord whispers to me if I wanted to come closer and see it closer. I said cringing, “No, Lord…It’s okay…” Meaning, I’m fine where I am. I dreaded to see anyone I might know.

This vision lasted for awhile until I couldn’t take it anymore. Hundreds upon hundreds of people were coming up to Satan not knowing what he’s about to do. Not until he pushes them or picks them up and throws them into the air do they come to realize where they are heading. By then it was too late. I saw people trying to swim out, flailing their arms, but there was no getting out. The horror on their faces was beyond description.

Finally I said to the Lord in my spirit, “Please Lord, I don’t want to see anymore.” And the vision went away.

I don’t know where you are in your walk with God or if you even believe what the scriptures state about hell. Some go around saying that the word hell does not exist in the Bible and that the writers of old didn’t mean what is written in there. I too wanted so much to believe hell does not exist either. But after my vision and seeing God looking down and seeing Satan throwing people in that lake of fire I know it is real. I was wide-awake when I saw this vision. I saw it as if I was there. I know it is real.

If you do not believe, all you have to do is ask the Lord to show you if it is real or not. Make sure you really are asking and are really looking for His answer. If you are, He will show you. If you really want His truth all you have to do is ask Him for it with all your heart and He will guide you and lead you to it.

My desire is to be ambitious for God. I don’t know all the answers or everything about God. All I know is that hell or not, I want God more than anything in my life. Life may throw me a curve ball or life may make me too busy to love Him and talk to Him, but if I can get even a moment of time to tune into God and communicate with Him with my thoughts and with my heart, I will take advantage of it. I will ask Him to help me make time for Him and to love Him. God is not asking us to conquer the world for Him or move mountains and turn the world upside down for Him. His one and sole desire is for all of us to have a relationship with Him. All He’s asking is for us to let Him into our lives and make Him our friend and talk to Him. Don’t worry about how to please Him. Just worry about being able to talk to Him from your heart daily and making sure you have a relationship with Him. Having a relationship with Jesus Christ should be our number one ambition in this life. Outside of Him we can fail miserably at everything else in this life, but as long as we have Him we have been successful. Nothing in this life really matters. The only thing that truly matters is to have God in the end.

“For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” {Philippians 1:21}

“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” {Revelation 20:10}

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” {Revelation 20: 12-15}

“He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.” {John 12:25}

“And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.” {Luke 21:34-35}

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” {Luke 21:36}

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” {Matthew 6:33}
