This past weekend was the one year anniversary of my Dad’s deliverance and healing of his kidney disease. He almost died. March 20, 2020 was his flight in from the Philippines after being away from the US for quiet some time and the next day he was rushed to the Thorton Pavilion – Jacobs Medical Center in San Diego California by my brother Juven. He was there in the hospital from March 21st to April 3rd – fourteen days. We didn’t even know exactly what was wrong with him and how bad he was. But the Lord was watching out for him and for us his children who love him very much. One of my sister’s friend who is a doctor told my sister that my dad must be brought to the emergency room as soon as possible. He was just sleeping most of the time when he got back so we thought it was just jet lag. We had no idea he was dying. I mean we knew he was very sick but again we didn’t understand how bad he was. Of course there was a plan to get Dad to the doctor as soon as we can get his insurance taken cared of. But Bella had seen the medical reports sent to her by my sister and she knew how bad he really was. There was no time to lose. So my brother Juven decided to take him to the emergency room as soon as he was able to get off work, but as they were coming down the stairs of my dad’s apartment Dad collapsed and fell down flat on the ground. He couldn’t stand up. He told us later he just felt that he was just watching himself die. Two neighbors heard my brother’s pleas for help and placed my Dad in his jeep. After he was admitted in the ICU the doctors weren’t sure if he was going to fully recover. At one point we had to give the doctors a decision whether we wanted DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order or not. We told them we absolutely did not want a DNR if something happens. We wanted him alive. To make a long story short, after much prayer and communing with the Lord, the Lord did a miraculous thing. After six days he was out of the ICU and soon my Dad was talking about getting out of the hospital. After a few weeks of dialysis the Lord has made true of His word to me when He told me during prayer that He was going to give my Dad new kidneys. In my journal I had written on May 5th, “Facetime with my Dad. Kidneys are doing well. No need to go back for dialysis.” Thank You, Jesus. He truly is so kind and great and merciful. I love Him so much!

Today my Dad goes for walks everyday. We still haven’t seen him face to face because of the pandemic and travel restrictions. But everyday he sends us selfies of his walks, which brings joy and assurances that he’s doing just fine. Thank You, Jesus.

My Dad wrote this song in October and I thought I’d wait to record it and post it here to commemorate the wonderful work the Lord has done for him and for us in healing him of his kidneys. Thank You, Jesus.

Verse 1
Thank You Lord for adding life to me
There was no hope but I survived
It was a miracle it was a miracle
For I was a hopeless case just waiting to die
Hundreds of people praying that You’d spare my life
And You heard their prayers I’m alive today
It is a miracle

Chorus
It is a miracle
It is a miracle
That I got to live again because of Your grace
Oh it’s really because of Your grace Lord
That I’m alive today
And I see the light of day
It is a miracle
It is a miracle

Verse 2
The day I left the Philippines
was already a lockdown due to the virus
When I boarded the plane the Philippine Airlines
I was in a daze just trusted on my faith
I arrived Los Angeles I was in a wheelchair
Juven was waiting there he was happy to see me
And I was happy to see him

Verse 3
The next day I collapsed and fell on the ground
Juven was shouting for the neighbors to help
There were two men who came
they were really like angels
And they helped me get loaded on the jeep
I was rushed to the emergency
confined for thirteen days
Oh I was dying for six days and But I survived
And I’m alive today it is a miracle

Chorus
It is a miracle
It is a miracle
That I got to live again because of Your grace
Oh it’s really because of Your grace Lord
That I’m alive today
And I see the light of day
It is a miracle
It is a miracle

Ending
And I see the light of day
It is a miracle
It is a miracle
It is a miracle
