The Grace Of God

The grace of God is always available. We can access it wherever we are. Any time, any place, any hour of the day – morning, noon or night, 24/7. We can access God’s grace in whatever shape and form we find ourselves in, whether we feel good or right about ourselves or we feel utterly wretched and ashamed of ourselves. There is not a time or season in our lives that God’s grace is not available to us. Any time we need it He is there.

God’s grace is abundant to whoever needs Him. This is the very reason Jesus Christ died at the cross and gave His life for us. It is so that we can access God’s grace any time. We don’t need to wait until we feel good or right about ourselves to call on God and to find Him. That’s the beauty of God’s grace, it doesn’t require for us to be good to receive it. We don’t have to even be one ounce good. We don’t need to have done everything right. This is why it’s called Grace – God’s unmerited favor towards mankind. It means His love and mercy and compassion is available any time we need it. We don’t earn it. It means right now, right where you are you can call on God and He will be there for you.

Don’t wait until you feel good to talk to God and make Him your friend. The sooner you talk to Him the sooner you will feel better about yourself and about your life. The sooner we bring ourselves to His grace and His mercy, the sooner we will experience His undying love that He shed for us at Calvary. His death at the cross is not because we are so good that He was obliged to die for us. No, far from it! His death and the shedding of His precious blood is the outcome of the need we have of Him, because we are sinners. We need Him to save us from our sins, so He came down and died for us. We have no hope at all if Jesus Christ did not come down and die for us. God saw that. He saw the very true need of His blood to be shed for us, so that we can have remission for our sins. The Bibles states,

“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” {Hebrews 9:22}

God so wanted us for Himself that He came down and died for us, to give us forgiveness for our sins and reconcile us back to Him. We are hopeless without Him. We cannot bring ourselves back to God because we are sinners. We cannot purge our own selves from our own sins. The children of Israel every year had to choose a high priest to go into the Most Holy Place in the tabernacle to bring in blood to offer to God for their sins. They had to slay an innocent perfect lamb to do this. The Bible states that even this act did not purge their sins away. It only pushed God’s wrath away from them for another year. Apostle Paul stated it this way,

“For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.” {Hebrews 10:4}

Truth is, sacrifices and offerings were not enough to bring us totally to God or to bring God totally to us. God said at one point:

To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. {Isaiah 1:11}

So if the scripture states that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins, and God Himself is sick of it being offered to Him everyday and every year, what are we to do? If the children of Israel, the nation that God had called for Himself cannot even have their sins taken away from them, what are we then the Gentiles to do? Where are we all going to stand before God? Exactly – we are all completely hopeless without God.

“And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” {Hebrews 10:11-17}

So there is hope for us now – through Jesus Christ – we have hope. God Himself came down in the form of a man we call Jesus Christ, to shed His own precious blood for the remission of our sins. God created Himself a body to make an offering for the atonement of our sins. It is the grace of God, not of our own doing. Our only contribution on this part is the fact that we made such a mess of ourselves He needed to come down. He loves us so much that He had no other choice about it, because He needed to save us. Nothing we can ever do or say will make us worthy of God’s holy blood for the remission of our sins. He freely gives it to us because He loves us so much. All we need to do is ask Him for it – ask for His forgiveness and for Him to cleanse us from all of our unrighteousness. If you’ve already repented of your sins and have been baptized in His name, and have received His precious gift of the Holy Ghost, you especially most certainly should not hesitate to come to the Lord. There is forgiveness with Him. All we need to do is talk to Him and tell Him of our need of Him.

The Bible states that through Jesus Christ’s offering of His body we are sanctified.

“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” {Hebrews 10:10}

So you see Christ did not come because we are good. Christ came because we are not good and we need Him. So don’t wait until you feel good about God or about yourself before you come to God. Our righteousness is actually found by coming to Him. So come now, even now, come to Him and please talk to Him because He is always waiting and antsy for all of us to come and talk to Him. He has already made a way for us at the cross to come to Him. What more does He need to convince us to come to Him? His grace is always available for us at any time. Right now He is there for each and every one of us, because He loves us so much. Please don’t wait to come and talk to Him. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or how awful you feel about yourself or even how many times you’ve already asked for His forgiveness. Ask again because He is there again ready to forgive. That’s what grace is about – you can freely come anytime, it doesn’t matter whether you feel worthy or not, His grace is there for you. There is no sin that is too great for Him to forgive and take away. His grace is sufficient and most abundantly available always. The sooner you come the sooner you will make yourself happy and God happy. Your coming to Him will make Him very happy. He is very desirous for us all to come to Him. Please talk to Him.

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” {Hebrews 10:19-23}

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” {Ephesians 2:8-10}
