But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for His own sins, and then for the people’s: for this He did once, when He offered up Himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore. {Hebrews 7:24-28}
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. {John 19:30}
And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power. {Colossians 2:10}
There is nothing in this world that Jesus does not own. The kingdoms of the heaven, the earth, and hell all belong to Him. There is nothing that is beyond His power or dominion. Whatever powers you are searching for and looking for, God owns. We don’t need to look to any other power that is greater than Jesus Christ, because there is no other power that is greater than Him.
Satan would like us to believe that he is the king of this world, that he owns the kingdoms in this world. Boy does he wish. That is a lie. He wishes it was true, but God owns the whole heaven and earth and every power that exists. Because of what Jesus has accomplished at the cross He tells us,
All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. {Matthew 28:18}
It is true that Satan is somewhat a king. He is actually the prince of the darkness of this world, but even this kingdom belongs to God. Jesus said about Satan,
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. {John 12:31}
All kingdoms belong to God because they cannot exist without Him. God has allowed Satan to try and tempt mankind for a season; his power came from God. In Revelation we see who is boss over Satan,
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. {Revelation 20:1-3}
You see Satan has no power at all except it be given to him by God. (By the way, it only takes one angel to bind Satan up, can you believe it?) After this season God will get rid of him for good so that he cannot hurt anyone anymore. Revelation further shows us what the ending of Satan is,
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. {Revelation 20:10}
Satan has no power at all except what God has given him. He might think he has power now, but he knows clear enough that it is short lived. That’s why he’s in such a rush to bring as many people with him where he is going. But when God is finished with him, he will be punished forever and ever with the rest of all the false prophets that deceived the souls here on this earth. In truth no one has any power at all except Jesus Christ.
A lot of people are being deceived today, even people that love God and believe in Jesus Christ are being deceived to try other “powers” in this life. Don’t fall for it. Remember there is no other power except Christ’s. If it’s not Jesus, it can only be Satan’s – the prince of the darkness of this world. We cannot take chances. The world would have us to believe that we are gods and are bosses of our souls. Be very careful. All glory and honor belongs only to the Lord. If things like, “self-glorification” is becoming a part of our conversation, it’s time to check who is the boss in our lives. Is it Jesus or is it Satan? The self in us will definitely want to be the boss, but this kind of pursuit is akin to the pride that brought Lucifer (who is Satan) down from heaven. We don’t want that at all. Believing in ourselves, boosting ourselves up, “loving” ourselves, “self-love” all these thoughts of self glorification are not of God. Think about it, what can we do? What power do we have that did not come from God at all? The Bible tells us,
For in Him we live, and move, and have our being. {Acts 17:28}
Our bodies came from God; our soul, our breath, the beating of our hearts, and our ability to think and reason and understand things all came from God. What is there in us that isn’t God’s to begin with? We did not create ourselves, God did. So to look into ourselves and find power in ourselves is a waste of time. Why go through all that self-love and mysticism, yoga, and spiritualism, when all we have to do is talk to Jesus Christ? He is the God of all flesh, and the King of all principalities and powers of this world. Why waste our time and energy looking for other powers when all we have to do is say to Him,
“Jesus, I love You. You are my God. You are my life. You are my help and You are my King. You are my Lord and Savior, my everything. Fill me with Your love. Fill me with Your grace. Fill me with Your Spirit and Your truth. Forgive me from all of my sins and unrighteousness and make me truly Yours. Thank You!”
Then all the powers in the heavens and earth will come into our hearts and into our souls, and will fill us through and through with the light and love and the glory of God. No need for self-love there, because God’s love will fill all that emptiness away. God’s love will heal all those broken hearts and broken souls. He will bring us into a relationship with Him the likes of which we’ve never seen before. He will give us joy and peace and holiness that He alone can give to us. Looking for who you truly are? Look no further. The more you have God the more you will come to know who you are, because only through Him can your existence mean anything at all. Without Jesus Christ we are nothing. For John the Beloved tells us,
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. {John 1:4}
Jesus tells us,
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. {John 14:6}
Don’t waste another minute searching for other powers in this world. Satan and the spirits in this world wish they could have what we have. The angels in the heaven wish they could have what we have. We have to be out of our minds to be seeking after mediums and spirits and angels in this world, when they’re all wishing they were us – whom Christ and the Father gave His life for. Why would we throw all the love away that God has to offer us through Jesus Christ? Christ is everything. Christ is God manifested in the flesh to save us all from our sins and our unrighteousness. He has conquered death, hell, and the grave and all the principalities of this world for our sake, so that through Him we can live forever more. We don’t need to search for other powers. Jesus Christ has it all.
And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. {Colossians 2:15}
And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. {Revelation 21:5-8}
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set My face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. {Leviticus 20:6}
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. {1 John 4:4}
These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. {John 16:33}
Prayer
Father, I praise You, I worship You and I bless Your holy name. I thank You Savior for Your great love for me. I thank You for giving Your life up at the cross at Calvary to set my spirit free – to cleanse me from all of my unrighteousness and to forgive me from all of my sins.
I worship You, Jesus. I praise Your holy name. You are my God, You are my King, You are my life and my everything. You are holy oh God and there is no one else like You.
I pray Father for Your grace and mercy upon Your people today. I pray for faith in our hearts to keep coming to You and to keep talking to You. Our relationship with You is all that we really need. We don’t need to go to psychics and mediums and spiritualists. You are all we need. Besides, You said in Your word not to defile ourselves with these things for they are not of You but of the Devil, the prince of the darkness of this world. Please Jesus, help us Savior to see these things and not be deceived. Please let us have faith in You and bring whatever it is that is bothering our hearts and our souls. Whatever it is that we need, help us to bring it to You because You will be there for us. We don’t need anything else in this life except You, if we would just have faith and wait upon You. Help us Father to wait and to overcome in these last days. Help us to love You more and more as the evil days are even more upon us, and help us stay faithful to You. I pray in Your most wonderful and lovely name, Jesus. Thank You, Father. Amen.
