The Love Of God

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. {John 3:16}

The love of God is free for you and me, but it wasn’t free for God. He freely gives us His love, but He paid a price to give us that love. It is easy for us to have it now. Any time we want we can have it by simply reaching out to God and talking to Him, but it cost Him His life. We take God’s love for granted everyday. We know it will be there for us whenever we need it, but for so many people today they still don’t know about that love. They’re still wondering whether God loves them. They’re still wondering where He is and who He is. But today we know who He is. We know where He is. We can find Him. The Bible states we will find Him if we come to Him and seek for Him with all of our hearts. We know that the love of God is Jesus Christ manifested in the flesh to us today. We don’t have to look everywhere to find God’s love. We don’t have to climb Mount Sinai or Mount Moriah, or go to Israel or to Jerusalem to find God’s love. Anywhere we are we can find Him. All we need to do is come to Him with all of our heart and talk to Jesus Christ and we will find God’s love.

What is so wonderful about God’s love that we can’t stop talking about it? I don’t think we will ever understand how great and awesome that love is. I don’t know if we will ever come to grasp the awesomeness of it as long as we live. All I know is I needed that love and need it still everyday. I cannot live without God’s love. I need it to live. I need it to get me out of bed everyday. I need it to hope for a better future for myself. There are no words to describe the great love of God. For me that love has brought me life, brought me healing, gives me reason and meaning to live everyday. Everyday I live because Jesus loves me. His love forgives me of my sins, gives me worth, and makes me feel so loved. That love lets me know I am important in His eyes. It fills me through and through. I live because He loves me.

That love came down to us in flesh and blood from the great Almighty God, the Spirit that spoke the world into existence. He did nothing wrong but only good while He was here, yet He allowed sinners and wicked men to come and take Him away and laid down His own life as a sacrifice for our sins, and for the salvation of our soul. They took an innocent man and killed Him, but He allowed it. The most powerful Creator of all allowed His mere creation to come and kill Him. God allowed it because He was giving His life for the whole human race, so that you and I can have life, abundant life and everlasting life in Him, today.

Today we can find God’s love simply by talking to Jesus Christ and reaching out to Him and asking Him to come to us. That love is freely given to us. You don’t have to be good or right or holy and going to church all the time to receive that love. No one earns God’s love. The Bible states He loves us even before the foundation of the world. He loves us even in our filthiness and wretchedness. No one earns that love, it is freely given to us. You may ask, “How can I have that love? How can I have more of that love?” It’s really easy. He has made this very easy for us. Just simply talk to Him. That is all. Talk to Him from the bottom of your heart and He will be there. He is always there listening and ready to respond to whosoever will come to Him. Just tell Him you want Him. If you do, He will come. He loves those that want Him. He will come to those that want Him. You don’t have to be good or perfect you just have to come with your heart and tell Jesus Christ you want Him.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. {Matthew 7:7}

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. {Jeremiah 29:13}

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. {John 6:37}

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. {John 15:13-15}

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for You are our God today who gave us His life at the cross and overcame death and the principalities of this world to give us life today. We come to You Lord Jesus asking for Your grace and forgiveness and for more of Your love. Please Savior give us more of Your love today. Give us more of You. Let us come to know You more and more each and everyday. Let us come to know and feel and experience the power of Your love. Help us to receive You. Teach us and show us how to have You more everyday. I ask all these things in Your wonderful and mighty name, Jesus. Thank You, Father. Amen.
